Jack Farrer
Directors

Greg Giblett - CHAIRMAN
Greg has a range of roles within Outlook Ag and as a senior consultant on the Liverpool Plains believes strongly that working as a team, striving to provide superior crop agronomy advice through the exchange of ideas and experience, will lead to increased client farm returns and sustainability. Greg’s knowledge and extensive experience are an invaluable asset within the group, ensuring the best development of the younger team of independent agronomists working for Outlook Ag.

Derek Gunn
Derek is lucky enough to live in the middle of the Liverpool plains and amongst a large number of Outlook Ag clients and enjoys the close association with this cropping region.
A passionate believer in the commercial application of cutting edge trial research outcomes, Derek looks forward now to even greater capacity within the field of research and research partnerships with Outlook Ag and the ensuing benefits that guarantees to clients.

Drew Penberthy
As a private consultant, Drew provides a full range of optimisation services for farmers across the Northern Growers Region, including full farm planning, crop variety and growing advice, spray recommendations, yield data analysis and variable rate technologies. He is an expert in analysis and understanding of crop input requirements, including water, and the impacts that input reductions may have on yields and production.

Greg Rummery
Greg graduated from the University of New England with a degree in Natural Resources Management (UNE). Further study in the work place resulted in the completion of a graduate diploma in Ag Science (CSU – Wagga Wagga)

Mitch Cuell
Born and raised in Narrabri, Mitch attended University at UNE undertaking a BAg Sc and first started work with the CSIRO in Canberra working as a student in the lab.
Mitch worked in Narrabri as a research agronomist for Kalyx P/L for seven years before joining Drew Penberthy at Penberthy Ag Consultancy as a field agronomist in 2017. Mitch moved over to Outlook Ag when the businesses were merged with Outlook Ag where he is a highly valued member of the agronomy team today specialising in trial design and implementation and incorporating these results into clients farming systems.
Agronomists

Phil Davis
Having grown up in Narrabri on a cropping and grazing enterprise, he completed a B Ag (Agronomy) at UNE. Phil has worked in both broadacre and irrigated cotton agronomy since 2009 throughout the Gwydir and Namoi Valleys. He has operated as an independent consultant as well as an on-farm agronomist which has provided him with a broad perspective on different approaches to improving crop production outcomes.
Phil joined Outlook Ag in 2022 and is enjoying working closer to home. He also manages a dryland farming operation not far from Narrabri which works in well with his new territory.

Davo McCathie
Davo was born and raised on a farm in the Liverpool Plains before graduating from Sydney University in 2017 with a Bachelor of Science in Agriculture, majoring in agronomy and livestock production. Davo then moved to Narrabri working as a research agronomist with Kalyx for 2 years, followed by a stint with CGS as a sales agronomist in Wee Waa before joining Outlook Ag in 2022.

Peter Meppem
During drought periods we were able to work alongside various research firms and Australian leaders in plant genetics. This work directly impacts the prosperity, sustainability and profitability of growers in my region and across the country.
We also took trips to the northern cropping regions of Australia to gain insight and further understanding of these developing agricultural enterprises.

Les Coleman
Les studied Rural Science in 2013 at UNE in Armidale before moving south to Hillston in the Riverina in 2017 with CGS followed by Nutrien. He spent 5 years in this role doing both marginal broadacre and high input irrigation agronomy which spread further south to Griffith and across the Hay Plains which grew his passion for cotton production.
In 2022, Les moved to Gunnedah with Outlook Ag to help service the Liverpool Plains region. During this time Les has continued studying an Agribusiness Major in Accounting

Tom Rummery
Tom grew up around Walgett and completed a Bachelor of Ag Science at CSU in Wagga Wagga in 2019. He gained extensive commercial research experience with AMPS as a Research Agronomist throughout 2020, before joining the Outlook Ag team in late 2021.

Dean Hamblin
Born and raised in Narrabri / Wee Waa region, Dean grew up on a family irrigation farm, with a focus on cotton legume rotations and farm sustainability. Dean attended the University of New England (UNE) where he studied a Bachelor of Agriculture Science with a major in Soil & Plant Physiology. While studying at UNE Dean commenced his agronomy career as a bug checker in 2012.
After graduating, Dean commenced an agronomist role with CGS Wee Waa in 2014 and later moved into independent consultancy with Steve Madden Agriculture in 2016 servicing the northwest NSW regions based out of Wee Waa. Dean has developed a strong interest in crop rotation for disease management, IPM with beneficial releases, and long-term farm sustainability over the past 7 years. Dean joined the Outlook Ag agronomy team in 2023.

Ruairi Browne

Jack Tate
Originally from Melbourne, Jack completed a bachelor’s degree in Agricultural Science at La Trobe University, before moving to Northern NSW and starting a graduate position with Imtrade CropScience in 2021.
Jack has developed a passion for crop protection in both dryland and irrigated farming systems. Jack complimented his initial studies by completing a postgraduate degree in Agricultural Science from the University of New England.
Jack has a keen interest in trial work, identifying gaps in research and developing solutions for issues identified.
Jack moved to Narrabri in September 2024 to commence a farm management role with Outlook Ag, based at ‘Locharba’, Bayer Research Station, managing the day-to-day operations and logistics.
Precision Ag

Fiona Wyngaarden
Having grown up on a mixed farming operation west of Narrabri, Fiona graduated with a B. Rural Science from UNE in 2010. After graduation, Fiona moved to Moree and worked with an independent agronomy consultancy, ICMS P/L, for just shy of nine years. In recent years, she has shifted focus towards digital agronomy and precision agriculture. She was based in WA for 6 months during the drought in 2019, before returning home to Narrabri, working remotely for precision ag clients from Theodore in QLD down to the Eyre Peninsula in SA.
Fiona has extensive field experience in a range of broadacre crops, specialising in cotton agronomy and precision agriculture.

Tom Garnsey
Tom grew up east of Bourke, where he lived on irrigation and grazing properties along the Darling River. Following a move to Wagga Wagga, he graduated the University of Sydney in 2022 with a Bachelor of Science/Advanced Studies (Agriculture). He joined the Outlook Ag team in 2023.
Administration

Jack Murray
Jack started his own consultancy business in cotton in the Namoi Valley in 1990 and has been active in consultancy and farm management up to today with a total of 45 years in the cotton industry and general agriculture within the district.
Jack joined Outlook Ag as a part time CEO running the office and attending to the business along with much of the administration that is required for this business today.

Jo Hamilton
Jo grew up at Narrabri on a mixed cropping and grazing farm and now she and husband Scott run sheep and cattle on a small farm near Eulah Creek. They have 2 children, who are both currently away at University.
Jo has worked in various administration / office roles for a number of years, starting with the State Bank early on and then with Auscott Namoi Valley for over 10 years. Since starting a family in 2000 Jo has operated her own business as Bookkeeper / Administration Officer around the Narrabri district.
Jo is a keen traveller, both within Australia and overseas, with a special interest in Kenya, and at home Jo’s interests are gardening and polocrosse.
